A TechNet Plus subscription provides periodic shipments of DVD-ROM
copies of all Microsoft commercial software, including beta and RC
releases, of operating systems, applications, servers, and Dynamics
products. The software is intended for evaluation purposes, not for use
in software development or in production environments. The shipments
also include the latest edition of the TechNet Technical Information
Library. Updates can also be downloaded at any time. Subscribers have
access to various support services and to Microsoft e-learning courses.
TechNet Plus is targeted to IT support professionals, system integrators
and administrators, and IT managers.
This product is the Volume Licensing version of the retail product TechNet Subscription Professional with Media.
The subscription includes two complimentary technical support calls and discounted service on additional live support calls. Subscribers have priority access to dozens of managed forums, in which Microsoft engineers provide answers within two business days if other users haven't already given them. TechNet concierge chat is available 24/7 to help subscribers find the technical resources they need or to assist with nontechnical questions.
The e-learning benefit provides subscribers with two sets of courses per calendar year, or about 40 hours of online coursework.
Acquiring TechNet: To activate the TechNet subscription, you must perform an additional step when retrieving your license keys from the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center website: click Subscriptions in the VLSC menu bar and follow the TechNet link to enter information about the subscribing user. Within 10 days, you will receive a confirmation email with a subscriber ID and directions to the TechNet website.
